During the winter season, our skin tends to get drier than usual. Humidity drops during this period. Using natural oils can help to reduce the dryness and keep your skin moisturized. They tend to be cheaper and they are very effective. If you have natural oils in the kitchen such as extra virgin Olive Oil and Coconut Oil you can use them to moisturize your skin. Moisturizing your skin is an everyday routine that you must adhere to if you want to have healthy and beautiful skin. We are going to share sevral tips on how to keep skin moisturized during the winter.

How to keep skin moisturized and beautiful in the winter

Keeping your skin moisturized and beautiful in the winter just requires a simple routine. Everyone’s skin is different. You have to find which oil or moisturizer works for you and use it daily. You can create you own natural skin moisturizer or buy cream and lotion that makes your skin healthy. Your diet is also important in maintaining moisture  during the winter. Drink plenty water or eat fruits that contain plenty liquid. You can also eat foods that have a high percentage of healthy fats such as avocado.

 

Your diet can help moisturize the skin

The diet is the easiest way to keep your skin moisturized. Drinking plenty water will allow you to retain moisture. People tend to drink less because they don’t want to run to the restroom frequently but don’t avoid drinking water during the winter. You can eat fruits such as melon that have high water contents and vegetables such as cucumbers. Eat food that contains healthy fats. These include fish, nuts, and avocado. You can also take fish oil pill as a supplement. You are what you eat so practice to eat food that can help moisturize your skin.

 

Use natural oils

Olive oil is one of my favorite natural oil. I get compliments when I use it on my skin. It the best natural moisturizer for my skin. You can choose any natural oil you like and apply it directly to the skin after you shower. Your skin will look healthier and beautiful. Natural oils are worth it and they are cost-effective. If you want to use a cream or lotion then make sure it has a rich oil content.

 

Make your own natural moisturizer

There are many masks and skin care pastes that you can make. Use some of your favorite oil rich product and make your own moisturizer. You can find a lot of recipes online. You can squash an avocado into a paste and apply it to the dry areas. Leave for a couple minutes and then rinse. You can add honey to the paste as well. This is one example of a homemade natural moisturize but you can research products and make your own moisturizer.

Overnight moisture

The best time to apply your favorite moisturizer and oil is at night. During the day the climate and daily activities suck the moisture from your skin. Before you sleep, apply your favorite moisturizer all over the body. This is a sure way to retain all the moisture you applied. Do this consistently during the winter.

 

Use humidifier

The humidifier is a device helps to keep your skin hydrated. The device infuses the air with moisture and prevents your skin from drying out. Remember, during winter humidity in the atmosphere drops. This is the reason for dry skin. When you add moisture in the air, you are preventing your skin from drying out. You can find these affordable devices on Amazon or your nearest supply store. You can use it in the environment where you spend most of the time.

 

Keep using Sunscreens

Sunscreens are designed to keep the skin moisturize so  continue to use them during the winter season. It is one option you can use during the day to keep your skin moisturize. Some people like to use it with their lotion and favorite moisturizer. Some people don’t because it is a moisturizer by itself. The choice is yours.

 

Wrapping it up

Apart from being cold during the winter, we suffer from dry, scaly skin. Moisturizing your skin during this time increases. It is highly recommended that you use natural oils and do your moisturizing routine at nights. The diet is also helpful when you want to keep your skin soft, healthy and moist. Eat food rich in water contents and don’t forget to drink water.
